Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry

August 20, 2016

The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was honored to give more than 320 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano.

“Last September, I had the ability to get a group together to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an incredible experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They do so much more than just collect food – they are a crucial part of this community.”

Minnie’s Food Pantry was created by Cheryl Jackson as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to use the food they receive to create healthy, long-lasting meals. They also provide resume aid along with financial and job classes to help members of the community get back on their feet.

Since each family receives around 50 pounds of food to last them a month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month.

“Each member of the team was so excited that we had this food drive for them, and they even took us around their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
